So, did you have to work, or go to school today? I had a choice, either take the holiday off. . . or work and taken a different day off. Since I’m not much of a winter person, I think I’ll use these personal hours during the summer time, ah! Work day, well worth it!

It’s been a crazy weekend. Two people I know happened to move th is weekend, and I visited them both. After being around all the boxes and clutter associated with moving, I decided to do a quick clean up around my own place. 10 bags later, I’m feeling better.

Damn TVs!

I have an old TV in my bedroom, that used to be in the living room. It’s died before, but I was able to change out the power supply. This thing has had an ugly burn in the picture too. This morning, it finally died for real. It would power on, but it could only hold a video signal for a few seconds before going blank. So I go online for some TV shopping, hoping to replace my living room TV, and moving that TV into the bedroom. The new features of TV’s today are great, but the problem I have is they don’t have as many inputs as they used to. I could not find a TV that would fit in my livingroom space, that had all the inputs I wanted. . . no matter what the cost. So after thinking about it, I decided to just replace the bedroom TV since it only needed two inputs. I ended up going for a smaller TV, because TV’s of the same size didn’t have the same resolution for some reason. So far I’m happy with the direction I took, even though it doesn’t take up as much of my bedroom wall as the other one did.

So I went on a little microphone shopping spree. The last couple of tracks I recorded were so noisy, it was making me crazy. I think for my setup a USB condenser microphone works best. I usually shy away from USB audio from some bad experiences with earlier models, but so far so good. I think the cost was worth it.

Valentines for the Alone

Happy Valentines day to you and your lover. I hope you and your sweetie have something fun planned to celebrate your love. I, however, will be celebrating alone. I sometimes fantasize about being in that fairy-tale type of relationship . . . but in real life . . . if it’s not fairy-tale perfect . . . then I’ll make it fall apart. Naturally, I haven’t found the perfect one, so there will be no valentine at my door. So to all of you that have some one, congrats on your ability to maintain a relationship with another person. I’ve been up since 5:30 am, and I’m doing good. I went to the gym, and even did my grocery shopping, and didn’t even sweat making it into work on time. It’s such an odd feeling pacing myself, but I think this is the way to do it.
